Minutes of Insurance Committee

February 11, 2005 Meeting

Present:  Denise Welsh, Lyn Ames, Steve Gross, Janet May, Diana Quintana, Tina Byford, Jackie Ryberg, Neta Fernandez, Steve Chresit, Marge Haas, Mike Levine, Joy Watkins, James Botsford

Tina called the meeting to order at 12:00pm.  Each person was asked to introduce themselves. 

First order of business was to elect new officers

Tina Byford was nominated for reelection to chairperson by Neta Fernandez, Denise Welsh Seconded the motion

Denise Welsh was nominated for secretary by Neta Fernandez, Lyn Ames seconded the motion.

Steve Chresit did an overview of the age demographics and briefly discussed the RFP for like and long term disability insurance. 

Pros and cons of Insured vs. Self-Funded were outlined as well as financial considerations. 

March 1 & 2 were selected to schedule best and finalist for Health Insurance presentations in the Regents room at Ed Services.
