All students (new freshman or transfer students) who are interested in pursuing the Bachelor in Nursing (BSN), the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), the Bachelor of Community Health (BCH) or the Bachelor of Environmental and Occupational Health (EOH) are admitted to NMSU and the College of Health & Social Services as pre-majors (PNUR, PSWK, PCHL, PEOH.).

Admission to each of our majors is competitive, requiring special applications (available from the pre-major advisors in the Dean's office) and prescribed prerequisite course work.

Students admitted to the University on a provisional basis are advised in this college prior to declaring a major in any academic college of the university.

Registered nurses (R.N.) who have an Associate Degree in Nursing and who would like to apply for the Bachelor Completion Program, should contact the NMSU School of Nursing directly.
