The Office of Study Abroad administers several scholarship programs to help students study abroad. The office maintains applications and helps students to apply. Some programs require an interview with the NMSU scholarship committee. All of the scholarships listed below have been received by NMSU students.

| University Fellowhsips Office & Other Listings |
For undergraduate students, eligibility is based on secondary school and/or postsecondary GPA and TOEFL score. For renewal each semester an undergraduate must complete 14 graded credit hours and maintain a 3.25 cumulative GPA. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students for a maximum of eight semesters or until graduation, whichever comes first.
For graduate students, eligibility is based on bachelor’s and/or graduate level GPA and TOEFL score. For renewal each semester a graduate student must complete nine graded graduate level credit hours and maintain a 3.50 cumulative GPA. The scholarship is awarded to graduate students for a maximum of four semesters or until graduation, whichever comes first.
Due to the limited number of scholarships available to award each year, applicants are encouraged to apply early. Priority will be given to applications received by March 1st for Fall semester applicants and October 1st for Spring semester applicants. Applicants must be admitted to New Mexico State University and submit a scholarship application to International Programs.
International
Peace Scholarship Fund
The International Peace Scholarship Fund was established to encourage
peace and mutual understanding by assisting women from other countries
to further their education in the U.S. and Canada, and then return home
to their own countries to use their education.
Applicants must be women from countries other than the U.S. and Canada
who are full-time graduate students with at least a full year of
coursework remaining. Scholarship recipients must promise to return to
their country within 90 days of completion of degree to pursue their
professional career.

PEACE SCHOLARSHIP FUND was established in 1949 to
provide scholarships for international women students to pursue

OAS Fellowships
The Inter-American Agency for Cooperation
and Development (IACD) of the Organization of American States (OAS)
administers one of the hemisphere’s largest multinational
fellowships and training programs. Every year, the Agency provides
several hundred fellowships for graduate studies and research,
fellowships for undergraduate studies at universities through the
region and awards for specialized, short-term training at educational
institutions and training centers in OAS Member and Observer States.
