Artesia Quilt Guild Annual Exhibition
This exhibition showcases the latest, and most innovative techniques and designs in quilting as well as vintage quilts. Each year's show is completely different, so be sure to check out the latest from this talented group of quilters! If you enjoy quilting, you will enjoy this show. Show opens on the third Tuesday of July and runs through August.

    • Bluegrass Concerts at Wildlife West Nature Park
      Event features different performers and captivating musical styles. Held in the covered amphitheater at the Wild West Nature Park. Fees include admission to the park, hayrides, jam sessions, fiddle or banjo contests, workshops on dobro, guitar or mandolin, dancing, and, of course, enjoy the music of many up-and-coming performers. Held at the Wildlife West Nature Center, 20 minutes east of Albuquerque. Sponsored by the Town of Edgewood. Wildlife West Nature Center has several annual bluegrass music festivals and don't miss the chuckwagon dinners and dancing every Saturday night from June 30th to September 1.     • Annual Hummingbird Festival - Grey Feathers Bird Sanctuary
      Literally thousands of hummingbirds swarm the feeders at Grey Feathers Lodge, located 25 miles north of Silver City, NM, during July and August. Join us for our Annual Birding Festival celebrating these amazing flying jewels! A week-long event which includes a variety of activities including hummingbird banding, educational slide presentations and nature walks.       Three days of reminiscing, dancing, eating and just plain fun at the largest high school reunion around - all classes! Event starts on Thursday with check in and reception, followed by events and dancing on Friday, then an all classes parade on Saturday with a Saturday banquet when classes break into years.

    • Tour of the Nations
      Tour of the Nations is a 5-day recreational and educational bike ride that winds its participants through three of New Mexico’s Native American Pueblos and two national monuments, stay as guests in several current day Pueblos, will be treated to a tour, traditional meal, and traditional performance at the Pueblos, and finish the ride in Gallup, New Mexico, where the participants receive tickets to the 86th annual Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial. The Inter-Tribal Ceremonial is a renowned powwow which attracts Native American participants from across the US, and parts of Canada and Mexico. Total of 234 miles.       Sadie Orchard Day honors Sierra County pioneer Sadie Orchard and the spirit of the early pioneers that settled the area. Sadie was a madam, hotel operator, stage coach owner and driver, business woman, nurse to the sick, benefactor to many, and quite a colorful character. The afternoon begins at Geronimo Springs Museum with a melodramatic memorial service to Sadie, a procession to her grave site in Hot Springs Cemetery, and continues in the park with live music and games, including the bed race, chamber pot relay, and watermelon seed spitting contest.
