A good idea is to use the contact information before traveling in case of unforeseen changes. This calendar is updated annually as information is received. Key: Full Weekend means Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Weekend means Saturday and Sunday. All other days or dates are marked accordingly.

    • Renaissance Craftfaire
      Spend a weekend with Kings and Queens, Jesters and fair maidens, at the finest arts and crafts and medieval event around. Brought to you by the Doña Ana Arts Council. 10am to 5pm each day at Young Park, located at Lohman and Locust streets. $5 admission

    • Tularosa Basin Historical Society Annual Book Fair
      Join us for a fabulous sale on historical books of all kinds. There is a 10% discount for members on books (excluding Pioneer). Memberships will be available at the event. Special guests and book signing to premier the latest issue of our own publication, Pioneer. This issue is Our Alamogordo: Two Personal Reminiscences and will be signed by authors Frances Evans and Don Henderson (former mayor of El Paso). The book fair will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

  • Saturday of Veteran's Day Weekend in Truth or Consequences and Elephant Butte
    • Annual Veterans Day Antique Classic Car Show
      A juried show and display of classic cars and tractors for all over the Southwest. Free admission for the public. $20 entrance fee to show off your car. ALL monies received will go directly to the New Mexico Veteran's Home Activities Department. The event will be held at the
      New Mexico Veteran's Center. While there, see "The Wall That Heals." The traveling Vietnam Veterans Wall no longer travels but has a new home in New Mexico...forever!! Truth or Consequences has purchased the wall from the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund. It will magnificently stand as a patriotic tribute to a pivotal event in our history. See it at 992 S. Broadway.     • Desert Classic Regatta and Fall Series 2 - Saturday and Sunday
      10:00 am, Elephant Butte Lake State Park. Most races are held in the middle part of Elephant Butte Lake across from Hot Springs Landing and between Rattlesnake Island and Rock Canyon. Each race is about a couple of miles. $15.00 Rio Grande Sailing Club, www.rgsc.org.

    • Festival of the Cranes at Bosque del Apache
      Celebrate the return of the cranes at the annual Festival of the Cranes at the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge. The festival includes tours, lectures, exhibits and the Refuge. Tours are offered to introduce you to areas and topics not commonly available during the year. Lectures are offered for a variety of wildlife related subjects. On Saturday and most of Sunday the main Promenade, at the Refuge, will be filled with exhibits and demonstrations and The Fly-Out in the morning and the Fly-In in the evening are memorable events.   • Weekend before Thanksgiving in MAGDALENA, NM
    • Magdalena Arts and Crafts Festival and Studio Tour
