Once the largest county in the United States, Lincoln County was made famous by the historic Lincoln County Wars in the late 1870s. Names like Billy the Kid, Sheriff Pat Garrett, and Smokey Bear, Fort Stanton and its Buffalo Soldiers and so much more, help describe Lincoln County. Additionally, its beautiful forests, crystal clear lakes, and fast skiing adds to the attraction for outdoor sports. From fine theater productions, to fast paced horse racing and casinos, to some of the finest artisans around, Lincoln County is a great destination for visitors.

The REDTT County Tourism Council (CTC) of Lincoln County meets on the 2nd Monday of each month. Meeting location changes from month to month.
