Intrusive
technologies include fiber optic sensors, inductive loops, magnetometers,
microloops probes, pneumatic road tubes, piezoelectric cables, and other
weigh-in-motion sensors. These devices are installed directly on the pavement
surface, in saw-cut or holes in the road surfaces, by tunneling under
the surface, or by anchoring directly to the pavement surface as is the
case with pneumatic tubes.
The following
is a list of equipment that various manufacturers have made available
to the VDC.
