GIRLS’ INDIVIDUAL BASKETBALL CAMP JUNE 1 AND 2
The Darin Spence Girls’ Individual Basketball Camp will be held June 1 and 2 in the New Mexico State University’s Pan American Center. The camp is for girls in kindergarten through eighth grade and will focus on the fundamentals of basketball such as shooting, passing and ball handling. For more information call (505) 646-1570.

UNIVERSITY ART GALLERY HOSTS REGIONAL INVITATIONAL
The University Art Gallery at New Mexico State University will host the second bi-annual Regional Invitational Exhibition, featuring artists from New Mexico, Texas, Arizona and Colorado. The exhibition opens with a gallery reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 3, and will run through July 31.

The reception features a raffle for an all-expense-paid trip for two to Chicago and other prizes. Tickets are $10. For more information call (505) 646-2545.

LITTLE AGGIE BASKETBALL CAMP JUNE 6-10
The Reggie Theus Little Aggie Basketball Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon June 6-10 in the Pan American Center at New Mexico State University. The camp will teach basketball fundamentals to children in kindergarten through eighth grade.

AGGIE DAY CAMP IS JUNE 13-17
The Reggie Theus Aggie Day Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon June 13-17 in the Pan American Center at New Mexico State University. The camp will help children in first through 12th grades focus on improving overall basketball skills. For more information call (505) 646-1447.

UNIVERSITY MUSEUM OFFERS WORKSHOPS
The New Mexico State University will offer three Saturday Family Workshops during June, giving families an opportunity to participate in arts and crafts activities and view current exhibits. “Clay Animals” is the theme for the June 11 workshop, “Dad Frames” will be held on June 18 and “Catch the Fish Tail” will be held on June 25.

Workshops are from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Participation is free and supplies will be provided. For more information call (505) 646-3739.

UNIVERSITY MUSEUM PRESENTS TWO EXHIBITS
The New Mexico State University Museum is presenting two exhibits, “La Herencia” and “Southwest Memories: Family Auto Touring in the 1950s,” through Aug. 13.

“La Herencia” depicts a variety of covers from La Herencia magazine, New Mexico’s most widely read Hispanic journal. “Southwest Memories” features images of families traveling through the Southwest during the 1950s. Personal artifacts and clothing popular during 1950s also are on display.

In conjunction with the “La Herencia” exhibit, Ana Pacheco, creator and publisher of the magazine, will speak at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 16, at the museum. For more information call (505) 646-3739.

AGGIE SHOOTING CAMP TO BE HELD JUNE 21-25
The Reggie Theus Aggie Shooting Camp will be held June 21-25 at New Mexico State University’s Pan American Center. Children in first through 12th grades will learn shooting techniques and developmental skills from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

CHILDREN’S THEATER GROUP TO PERFORM
The New Mexico State University Department of Theatre Arts will present “The Storyteller: Legends from the Southwest” at 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 24, in the Hershel Zohn Theatre on the NMSU campus.

The performance is part of the Children’s Theater Workshop, where elementary and middle school students will attend classes from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 6-23. For more information call the Theatre Arts Department at (505) 646-4517.

NMSU’S DANCE PROGRAM HOSTS “VIVA LA DANSE”
Guest artists Jose Tena, Pablo Rodarte, Luren Bellucci and Michael Walker will perform Sunday, June 26, at the New Mexico State University Activity Center. The performance is part of the Viva la Danse workshop, June 23-28, which teaches beginners and experienced dancers Flamenco, Spanish Dance, Ballet Folklorico and Argentine Tango styles of dance.

EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM TO PRESENT SPEAKER
The Center for Border and Indigenous Educational Leadership (CeBIEL) will host Nancy L. Commins at 5 p.m. Friday, June 24, in the Ivan L. Carbine Auditorium at the Physical Science Laboratory Building at New Mexico State University.

Commins works as an independent consultant assisting in the improvement of instruction for linguistically diverse populations. She is co-author of “Restructuring Schools for Linguistic Diversity: Linking Decision Making to Effective Programs” and will discuss the book at the event. “CAMP OUT” POSITION CAMP SCHEDULED
The Darin Spence “Camp Out” Position Camp, June 27 and 28 in the Pan American Center at New Mexico State University, is designed to help girls ages 14-18 learn and improve skills for individual positions at the high school and collegiate level.

NMSU HOSTS 2005 VANS WARPED TOUR
The 2005 Vans Warped Tour will make a stop at New Mexico State University’s Intramural Field 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 28. More than 40 punk bands will perform, and there also will be an Ernie Ball stage that usually adds local bands, extreme sporting exhibition, climbing walls, a reverse daycare center and all of the lifestyle attractions that the Vans Warped Tour is famous for.
