Full time, 12-month position, contingent upon continued funding. Travel required.
Southwest
Technology Development institute, New Mexico State University, has
established a nationally prominent role in the development of, and
training in, codes and standards applied to renewable energy systems
and is the lead for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Solar America
Board for Codes and Standards (Solar ABCs).
The successful
candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in electrical
engineering, physics, renewable energy, or environmental science
(Master’s preferred) and be knowledgeable in photovoltaic (PV)
systems design. Current NABCEP certification is desirable as well
as experience working with electrical inspectors and knowledge of the
National Electrical Code.

Responsibilities
include: supporting the program manager with all aspects of codes and
standards, participating as a member of various standards-making
bodies, interpreting NEC codes and standards for PV installers and
manufacturers, providing code training and outreach to PV stakeholders
and professionals, writing articles.
