VI. Additional International Relations Sites
This page provides some additional internet sites which may be of interest
to those involved in border studies or international relations in general.
This listing is by no means comprehensive, but serves as a general guide
for some relevant resources.
International
Studies Association
- The official web page of the International Studies Association. Includes
information on the ISA, general meetings, and publications. Also has links
to other ISA sections such as International Political Economy and International
Organizations.
The
Center for Strategic and International Studies
- The home page of the Center for Strategic and International Studies
in Washington. Proflies and access to programs, publications, and scholars.
The
International Affairs Network
- Part of the World Wide Web Virtual Library, the International Affairs
Network maintains a comprehensive collection of annotated links to IR resources
on the internet, organized by source and topic. Sources vary from topics
such as International Development or Area Studies and links to official
government servers, on-line periodicals, grant information, and international
news services. Users can find such diverse materials as full-text international
treaties, articles on international affairs, and even syllabi from international
relations courses.
International
Relations and Security Network
- This is an extensive information network run by the Center for Security
Studies and Conflict Research at the ETH Zurich in conjunction with the
Euro-Atlantic Foundation, Brussels. The page is based on a database of
hundreds of links to a variety of electronic resources. Links are reviewed
for content and indexed by subject and region. The page has recently been
restructured to allow for keyword searching. Very good for national security
issues.

for World Indigenous Studies
- The Center for World Indigenous Studies examines the issues surrounding
indigenous peoples and the social, economic and political realities of
indigenous nations. This web page links to material written and voiced
by leading contributors from Fourth World--undecolonized--nations.
United
States Institute of Peace
- Home page of United States Institute of Peace designed to support its
mission "to strengthen the nation's capabilities to promote the peaceful
resolution of international conflicts." Links are available to the
Institute's research areas, education and training programs, publications,
grants and fellowships. Includes guides to the Institute's scholars and
daily updates on its activities and conflict resolution efforts.

on Global Conflict and Cooperation at the University of California
- Information on the University of California Institute on Global Conflict
and Cooperation (IGCC) set up to study the causes of international conflict
and help devise options for resolving it through international cooperation.
The web page has electronic IGCC publications, including their Newsletter
and IGCC Research online featuring studies on regional relations,
international environmental policy, ethnic conflict, and the proliferation
of weapons of mass destruction.

- This web site contains an abstract of each article in the current issue
of World Politics published by the Woodrow Wilson school at Princeton.
and a form-based method of commenting on articles.

World Wide Web Site
- The UNHCR World Wide Web site features a comprehensive look at the
agency's existing documentation for the general public, along with texts
outlining refugee issues in 90 countries, and a legal information database
drawn from CD-ROM
Data
Archive of Interregional Interactions
- The Data Archive of Interregional Interactions (DAII) is a recently
established world-wide and interdisciplinary archive which contains data
sets and other information relevant to the topic of interregional interactions.
The Archive is headed by a Committee composed of scholars from Johns Hopkins
University as well as outsiders. No restrictions are placed on the form
of data.
- Projects: Population, Social Stratification, Legal
Apparatus,
Commerce, Crafts and Technology, Religion, Subsistence, Cognitive Variables
and Warfare.
- Current Acquisitions: include interregional interactions in
pre-contact (1779) Hawaii; Maquiladoras in Ciudad Juarez Mexico; interviews
with Immigrant Children and Families in Miami that focus on economic adjustment
and ethnic identity; and over 530 data sets conducted by scholars of the
Institute of Sociology, Russian Academy of Sciences. Information is available
via e-mail as above.

Border Disputes
- University of Cincinnati School of Law’s electronic books collection
has resolutions and recommendations on African border disputes by the Council
of Ministers of the Organization of African Unity. (Type ‘border’ at the
