Philosophy

The philosophy of the New Mexico State University Financial Aid Office is that no student should be denied a college education due to lack of financial resources. Our goal is to provide understandable information, timely service, and monetary assistance to you while maintaining stewardship of the public funds.

What we do:

Our office staff process the various applications and forms needed to determine your eligibility for grants, loans, work study, and scholarships. We understand, at times, the process and the forms appear difficult and overwhelming--that's why we're here to help. Our staff will gladly take the time to explain the details to you so that you understand how your eligibility for aid was determined.

Our staff of over 30 individuals is dedicated to helping meet your needs. We understand and respect your educational and personal goals and know that our work helps you achieve these goals. We pledge our commitment to you.

As partners, we promise to listen and care. We'll guide you through the procedures, process your file quickly, and award aid to the maximum of eligibility.

As partners, you promise to provide paperwork quickly and to follow the Financial Aid Office's guidelines and policies. We encourage you to apply early (each year), promptly respond to our letters, and to meet with our staff should you have any questions.
