CAREER ASSISTANCE 

Chapter Activities

NMSU members of Golden Key are encourage to visit Placement & Career Services (PCS). This office, located on the NMSU campus in Garcia Annex room  224, has dedicated individuals who provide a variety of programs and services which will assist students and alumni in determining and implementing their career and educational choices, while aiding employers with the college relations/employment process. 

 

Over 100 employers visit NMSU each semester to interview outstanding NMSU students. Also, many employers contact PCS for resume referrals, where resumes are forwarded directly to requesting employers. Golden Key members make excellent candidates for these employers and are encourage to set up their file with PCS.

 

Career/Job Fairs at NMSU: (Visit the PCS web site for more info)

  • Career Expo - held annually in the fall features over 175 employers making it the largest fair in the southwest.

  • Educators' Job Fair - held annually in the spring with over 150 school districts.

  • Graduate & Professional School Fair - held annually in the fall featuring graduate and professional schools showcasing their academic programs.

  • Engineering, Science & Technology SHPE Career Fair

  • Hotel, Restaurant & Tourism Management Career Fair

 

Members also can use the Golden Key Career Center to post resumes to Monster.com, link to the Corporate Council that provides valuable information and job opportunities for members.  Also, Career Planning Tools and Techniques offer advice from professionals, students, and recruiters about finding the career best suited for you.
