Caller ID Policy - (Admin Council approved)

Purpose of policy: This policy addresses the called id policy if effect on the Main campus and Alamogordo branch campus telephone system.

Caller ID information is deployed for both incoming and outgoing calls. This allows NMSU students, faculty and staff to see the number of the person calling into NMSU and allows the phone numbers from all NMSU phones to be passed to the public phone network (except those that are blocked intentionally).

If an NMSU user chooses to have his or her main number unlisted then it would be translated to a blocked call at the public network, otherwise each person’s extension information is transmitted to the public network.

NMSU Administrative Council must approve changes in this policy.
