Policy Statement on New Mexico State University Fire Alarm Panels

New Mexico State University Telecommunication Services offers ADT Fire Alarm Panels that notify NMSU Fire Personnel in the case of fire. When ADT Systems are deployed in this fashion they must monitor several fire detection devices. The system must also activate warning devices and fire suppression units that serve to protect lives and University Property.

It is important that these systems operate correctly and reliably. The integration of burglar detection devices can lower the effectiveness of a fire system. Information & Communication Technologies' Telecommunication & Networking Services will therefore no longer be tying burglar and fire alarm systems together. The NMSU Fire Chief will be responsible for ADT Fire System Panels and all customers wanting to add burglar detection systems will need to purchase their own alarm panel. Telecommunication & Networking Services is dedicated to keeping NMSU personnel and property safe and secure.
