Black Students of New Mexico State University

Purpose:
1. The primary purpose of BSNMSU shall be to provide services for Black students at NMSU while increasing participation in campus activities, politics, issues and functions. In addition, the BSNMSU strives to improve the educational, social and cultural awareness of the NMSU campus and the surrounding communities.
2. To develop an atmosphere of cooperation, unity, and understanding between BSNMSU members, Black staff, faculty, the campus, and the community.
3. To work for efforts to recruit members, obtain financial aid and tutoring and mentoring for all members while attending school.
4. To continue to strive for the elimination of oppression, racism, and injustice when/if these situations arise, while working to create an atmosphere of equality for all students.
