Chicano Programs
Chicano Programs is a support service that promotes and empowers all student success through education, advocacy and development of cultural literacy. Services for students include advocacy for academic, financial, and life issues. Dr. Laura Gutierrez Spencer is Director of Chicano Programs. Tim Strasser serves as Program Coordinator and Erica Enriquez serves as Administrative Assistant.
Indian Resource Development Program
At the Indian Resource Development Program, students are encouraged to obtain baccalaureate and post-baccalaureate degrees in Agriculture, Business, Engineering, Math, and other science-related fields. Indian Resource Development is a statewide non-profit, public service program headquartered at New Mexico State University. Joe Graham is the Director of IRD; Jeanelle Chavez is the Program Coordinator of IRD.
New Mexico MESA
NM MESA is a pre-college program that prepares students for college majors and careers in mathematics, engineering, science or technically related fields. Monica Blea heads NM MESA at NMSU for the Southern Region of New Mexico.
Sexual and Gender Diversity Resource Center
The Sexual and Gender Diversity Resource Center at New Mexico State University was created to provide a safe place on campus for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and questioning community and those who support them. Sharna Horn is the Coordinator of the SGDRC.
