Faculty/Staff Health

NMSU's Campus Health Center provides medical support for NMSU employees, dependents and retirees while the Student Health Center serves the health needs of NMSU students. Construction is slated to begin in August 2010 on an expanded Student Health Center which will merge with University Health Services Center. The new larger facility is expected to be completed in spring 2011.The University Health Center (UHC), provides outpatient, on campus medical support for NMSU employees, dependents, and retirees.

Medical Services available:

  • Work related injury and illness evaluations
  • Urgent care for acute illness
  • Coordinate medical care with patient PCP
  • Mental Health Consultations
  • Work and school related physical exams
  • Referral Assistance
  • Health Education

Clinical Staff

On site physician, nurse practitioner, psychologist, and nurses; All are certified in their respective specialties.

Confidentiality

All patient related information is confidential and is maintained as such in accordance with the law. UHC has written policies on Patient Rights & Responsibilities, as well as Use of Health Information. Identification (insurance card, staff ID, or driver's license) is required for each visit.

Employee Assistance Program

NMSU provides confidential counseling for faculty and staff experiencing personal and work related issues affecting their job performance. A faculty and staff's spouse or significant other is also eligible for these services. There is no cost for counseling.
