David L. Shearer, MS
Assistant Director
David is
an assistant
director for Environmental Health and Safety. His duties include:
-
oversight of
safety & OSHA compliance for NMSU laboratories, research, classrooms,
shops and other NMSU facilities;
- general
manager of NMSU safety training and training facility
- instructor for
Employee safety, HazCom, Lab Standard, Asbestos Awareness, & Respirator
Safety classes; and
- management of
Safety web site and of safety related databases (safety training,
chemical inventory, equipment certification, lasers inventory, emergency
plans)
- member of the
University Safety Committee, emergency reponse group, bicycle safety,
and campus activity review committee .
He has worked with Environmental,
Health and Safety regulations and protection since 1986.
