28th Annual Gem & Mineral Show

The Zuhl Collection will be on display at the 28th Annual Gem and Mineral Show in Silver City on September 3rd-5th, 2011, Labor Day Weekend, at the Grant County Business and Conference Center in Silver City, New Mexico, just east of town on highway 180. The show is presented by the Grant County Rolling Stones Gem & Mineral Society.  Visit their website http://rollingstonesgms.blogspot.com/ for more information and directions to the show. 

In addition there will be field trips and vendors from throughout the southwest.  Admission to the show is free of charge and has activities for all ages and interests. Bring  your mineral speciments for expert help in indentification. Play the Wheel of Fortune or bid for great items  at the Silent Auction. Food Services will be provided by the Silver City Lions Club!

The Show features local minerals, but includes specimens from around the world. Our diverse vendors offer everthing from rough cutting materials to handcrafted jewelry. New for 2011 will be educational field trips in addition to the regular rock-hounding trips that the Club has offered for years.

Special exhibts will  be offered by the New Mexico Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources, as well as the New Mexico State University Zuhl Collection, which specializes in Petrifed Wood.
