ONNSFA: ROWENA BENALLY VISITS NMSU TODAY

Rowena Becenti, Financial Aid Counselor for Office of
Navajo Nation Scholarship and Financial Aid, will be
visiting NMSU campus for two days on April 3rd and
4th. Each year ONNSFA staff meets with our Navajo
students that are attending NMSU to provide academic advisement,
counseling, support and information about
our program. She is very eager to meet with students
inquiring about Scholarship. If you have questions
regarding your scholarship please stop by. She will
also be accepting applications and documents for all
ONNSFA agencies.

ANNETTE KADE SCHOLARSHIP 2008-2009

Grants will be awarded to U.S. ISEP exchange participants in order to
encourage students with a genuine interest in study abroad, who do not
have sufficient financial resources, to apply for a placement in France
or Germany. The target audience for these scholarships is students
wishing to pursue study at one of the German or French ISEP member
institutions during the spring semester. The award criteria for the
scholarships include academic background, desire to improve language
ability, genuine financial need, and responses to essay questions. The
deadline for the first round of applications is Wednesday, April 30th
2008 for students planning to study abroad during semester 1 or the
full
academic year. A second application round will occur for semester 2
students in the fall, with a deadline of October 10th.

SUMMER INTERNSHIPS IN GERMANY

NEW! Summer internship options in Germany at TU Braunschweig and
U Hannover. These are considered .25 semester exchanges (NMSU
tuition and fees and housing at one-half semester rate-$2150).

ISEP is very pleased to announce new summer programs in
Germany: Internships for credit on exchange.

1. TU Braunschweig: SENSE (International Summer School in
Science and Engineering) Program date: June 9 to July 18, 2008

* Scientific work and practical training on real research projects
* International project management
* Working experience in a German company or research institute
* German language training
* Intercultural sensitivity training

Open to students majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics
and Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences and Biosciences who
have completed their junior year.

No prior German knowledge required!

All students complete two weeks of intensive German language and
intercultural training (60 hours) after which they choose different
internship options in their field of study. TU Braunschweig offers 9
ECTS credits for the whole program and recommends 6 US credits.
Home institutions may choose to assign more credit based on the
number of class/lab/internship hours. Grades are given for each

Cost:
The program is available to students from ISEP member
universities as an exchange option = half a semester. (NMSU
tuition, fees, and housing = $2150). Students pay $315

receive housing (in university residences) support services and
access to all facilities of the university. Note that this program
includes excursions, which are part of the program, but does not
include meals. Students have access to discounted meals in university
cafeteria. ISEP health insurance is mandatory.

2. U Hannover: Internships in Engineering
Program dates: June 2 - July 25, 2008.

This program offers students the opportunity to carry out an individual
study or research project. The program has been designed to suit the
needs of engineering students in general and mechanical engineering
students in particular.

Each student will be matched with a supervisor in a research lab or
institute
and will be integrated into the research team. The academic aspect of
this
unique program will be enhanced by an introduction week, regular
meetings
and follow-up sessions with supervisors and fellow participants. An
interesting cultural program will complement the academic work, and
German
student Study Buddies will help participants settle in. More

Hannover recommends 6 US credits for this program. No prior German

German Language Instruction:
Two afternoons per week plus a weekly session on a topic related to
German
culture and society.
