Coordinator of Online Degree in Sociology:
I am currently the coordinator of the Online Degree in Sociology and teach half of the time online. I have presented workshops about online teaching at Community Colleges and the University of Nebraska For more information on the Online Degree, follow the link to the Online Program.

Current Projects and Interests:
This past year I have served on a Technical Workgroup for Governor Richardson’s Climate Change Advisory Group. This group has been charged with the task of finding ways to reduce greenhouse gases in New Mexico. I served several years as the Chairman of the Nebraska Environmental Control Council, adapting Rules and Regulations for the State of Nebraska. I have done research on parenting, in particular looking at the consequences for children of delayed childbearing through a longitudinal panel study using data from the National Survey of Families and Households. I was particularly interested in the impact of age of the mother at the birth of the child and parenting styles.
