Arenas blancas, a bridge between frontiers and cultures

The literary journal, Arenas Blancas, is produced only a few miles from Mexico, in the southwestern United States in the state of New Mexico where diverse cultures converge.

The journal was initiated in 2004 as a literary outlet by the master degree students of the Department of Languages and Linguistics. It is a forum where graduate students can publish their research in the area of literature and linguistics as well as works of purely artistic nature.

Edited and produced by master's degree students at NMSU, this magazine is broadened in scope by the collaborative inclusion of researchers, professors and a diversity of writers from the United States and other countries.

With each edition there has been an increase in the number of copies produced, an expanding distribution within and outside the United States, and our ties with cultural institutions continually strengthened. Readers can enjoy the journal in the printed version or on the internet. Our goal is to develop bridges between frontiers and cultures.
