| I hope to raise questions and stimulate dialogue about the quality of our
lives and the power of our choices. The work is always humanistic, and always
focused on the search for both wisdom and compassion.
The mental, physical, spiritual, philosophical, aesthetic, and technical
processes used are demanding at all levels.
Applying a wide range of traditional and new media, I create richly-toned,
evocative, sometimes surreal photo based imagery. I present them as either two-
dimensional or as sculptural mixed-pigment, layered pieces. I complete them with
translucent image overlays of mesh, sheer fabric, resins, waxes, or varnishes. Although
I do incorporate my original photographs and employ printing processes, each piece
is unique due to the addition of drawn or painted details or tonal and textural nuance.
The overlays create the depth, dimensional illusions, and tactile surfaces that
appeal to and intrigue the senses. It is my pleasure to live and work in the physical
and the technical world as well as the worlds of mind and spirit.
