Research in the College of Arts and Sciences
Research in the College of Arts and Sciences at New Mexico State University covers a broad spectrum of investigation and scholarly activity. It includes research in the physical, biological, and mathematical sciences, as well as research and creative contributions in the social sciences, humanities, and cultural and performing arts.
The Arts and Sciences Research Center is the coordinating office for all research-related activities within the college. The primary function is that of service to departments and faculty members. Activities are directed to encourage and stimulate individual research efforts, as well as to facilitate the development of potential research programs within the College, in cooperation with other colleges, various institutes, and the Physical Science Laboratory, and with other educational institutions.
Within the limit of resources, the Arts and Sciences Research Center also provides support in terms of small grants of "seed" money, or minigrants, for individual faculty to develop research programs.
