The Freshman Year Experience

NMSU offers a three-credit course, UNIV 150, The Freshman Year Experience. This is an elective course that covers everything that has been proven to enhance retention of first-year students. It includes a wide variety of subjects such as time management, effective study reading and note-taking, learning to use the library for research, campus resources, understanding university policies, career planning, critical thinking skills, health and wellness, appreciating cultural diversity, and much more. Taking this course is a great way to launch your college career.
