NMSU Student Involvement & Initiatives
The ASNMSU Student Government has taken an active role in developing, promoting, and enacting the mission of the SCCTF. Currently there are several student initiatives that are either already in progress or are under consideration by the Student Senate. Already in progress is the Aggie Shuttle program which, with the cooperation of the NMSU Transportation Department, has expanded its service to cover the majority of the NMSU main campus as well as provide service to the DACC main campus. Another program supported by ASNMSU is the Aggie Recycling Program. Under this program students can volunteer at the Aggie Recycling Center to fulfill their on-campus community service requirements to receive funding from ASNMSU.
ASNMSU has several goals for future student involvement. General goals include increasing student awareness of environmental issues and “green” programs on campus. Specific goals include increased funding for the Aggie Recycling Center and an increase in overall campus recycling of 10% by the fall semester of 2009.
