English 111 G/H Rhetoric
and Composition
Portfolio Instructions
Your portfolio will determine 60 percent of your grade. Your
portfolios are due on ___/___. Please assemble them according
to these instructions. Incomplete portfolios will not be graded.
Put your name, Social Security number, section number, and
instructors name on the cover of your portfolio.
Your instructor will need to make reference to your work in
order to evaluate the quality of your argument in your reflective
self-assessment essay. The organization and presentation should
tell your instructor at a glance that your portfolio contains
all the work he/she has specified. He/she should be able to find
any of your coursework easily--your E2 peer critique copies,
for example. In your accordion file or binder, create logical
dividers and label them.
Use the front pocket or section to submit new, clean copies
of final drafts (put original, marked draftwork in another section
of your portfolio) of three pieces of writing:
E3--your documented white paper,
E4--your editorial, and
E5--your reflective self-assessment essay.
Label each of these three essays with your name, Social Security
number, your section number, your instructors name, and
the name of the assignment.
Follow the essay assignments for each piece of writing. Essays
will be scored using the evaluation criteria following each assignment
sheet.
