My writing has appeared in The New York Times, The UK Observer, Tin House, The Threepenny Review, One Story, Quarterly West, and many other publications. I received my MFA from San Francisco State University.

Teaching Statement/Emphasis
I approach teaching the way I approach writing: with openness, devotion to risk, and wit. I want my classes to feel as alive and innovative as the stories and nonfiction I write. I hope my student leave my courses feeling curious, feeling the possibilities inherent in life and art.
