P&T Policy

On May 3, 2007 the Faculty Senate passed Proposition 18-06/07, which revised Sections 5.88, 5.90, and 5.91 of the NMSU Policy Manual. President Mike Martin approved the legislation on May 11, 2007 and the Board of Regents ratified the new promotion and tenure policy on September 7, 2007 and October 22, 2007. This policy will take effect August 1, 2008.

The policy was amended by Faculty Senate Proposition 16-07/08, which was passed on March 6, 2008. President Martin approved these amendments April 30, 2008. Subject to ratification by the Board of Regents, these amendments will also take effect August 1, 2008. This revised P&T policy may be found at P&T Policy.
