Department of Geological Sciences Minor Requirements

 

To the Student:

A minor in GEOLOGY consists of completing the following courses with a grade of "C", "B", or "A".

COURSES CREDITS
GEOL 111G or HON 219G 4
GEOL 297 3

In addition to these two required courses, one must complete 11 more credits (for a total of 18 credits) from a list of electives below. Some of these electives have prerequisites as shown:

Electives with no prerequisites other than 111G/219G and 297:

350 Invertebrate Paleontology
353 Geomorphology
360 General Geochemistry

480 Seminar (variable)
490 Field Geology (310-312-399-470)

Any courses not listed above do not count toward a minor.

After completion of the above requirements, obtain the signature of the Department Head of Geological Sciences and submit the signed form to your Dean.
