For Geography majors Geography 281, 381, and 382 will not count toward the GIS minor because they are already required for the major. A grade of "C" or better is required for all courses taken for the minor. Students may not take any of these courses S/U.
GRADUATE GIS MINOR
The NMSU Department of Geography offers a minor in geographic information systems to interested New Mexico State University graduate students.
Required Courses:
- GEOG 481 Fundamentals of Geographic Information Systems
- GEOG 581 GIS Modeling and System Design
Two Courses from the following list of options:
- GEOG 482 Digital Image Processing
- GEOG 487 GIS Practicum
- GEOG 521 Advanced Topics in Geographic Information Science
- GEOG 587 GIS Applications
- GEOG 584 Seminar in GIS
