NMSU Department of Geography to host SWAAG meeting in 2012!
The NMSU Department of Geography is proud to announce that the Southwestern Division
of the Association of American Geographers (SWAAG) has accepted the Department's
offer to host the 2012 SWAAG meeting in Las Cruces, NM --- "and by rousing
acclimation." Students, faculty, staff, and alumni: we hope that you will join us
for this important event. We will keep you posted on the progress.

Graduate student Dennis McCarville awarded Rocky Mountain Region of ASPRS Scholarship.
The scholarship ($1,000) is awarded to undergraduate and graduate students throughout the Rocky Mountain Region
of ASPRS who demonstrate excellence while pursuing careers in the fields of
Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and related disciplines.

Gamma Theta Upsilon (GTU), the International Geographic Honor Society, reinstated with 10 new initiates.
NMSU Geography Department featured by ESRI for having the world's first virtual GIS Day.
