| Dr. Margaret Jacobs is an assistant
professor of history in the Department of History at NMSU. She
holds a Ph.D. from the University of California at Davis. Her
major area of research is the history of cross-cultural relations
between women. In 1999, she published Engendered Encounters:
Feminism and Pueblo Cultures, 1879-1934. She has recently been
awarded an Extending the Reach Faculty Research Grant from the
National Endowment for the Humanities to pursue research in
Australia regarding the removal of indigenous children from their
mothers and communities in the late 19th and 20th centuries. She
teaches several classes in Women's Studies as well as classes on
the history of women, the history of American Indians, and U.S.
history. |
