American Government
American Politics provides students with an understanding of how the American political system is structured, how it operates, and how students can be more effective as citizens and/or policy makers. Courses explore historical and current issues surrounding the institutions of American government, examine the processes by which people interact with government and voice their concerns, and how government operates at multiple complex levels.
American Politics is essential for students interested in running for public office at any level of government, working with interest groups, or conducting polling or public opinion surveys. Additionally, students will better understand how the political system works, why it is structured as it is, and how they can better represent their interests as citizens and fulfill their civic responsibility.
