Research Interests
Dr. Taggart's research interests include corrections policy, criminal justice administration, and judicial decision making.
Publications and Awards
Dr. Taggart's work has appeared in a broad range of scholarly journals and books in political science, public administration, and criminal justice, including the Journal of Politics, Western Political Quarterly, Public Administration Review, Public Personnel Management, Law and Society Review, and Justice Quarterly.
In 1995, Dr. Taggart received the El Paso Natural Gas Foundation Faculty Achievement Award in recognition of outstanding university teaching. He was the first faculty exchange participant of the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration, serving as a visiting professor of public policy at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
Dr. Taggart was nominated by New Mexico State University in 1988 to attend the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Science.
