Long-term disability insurance is available to eligible Employees. The plan pays up to 60% of the Employee’s base monthly salary up to a maximum of $5,000 per month. All benefit payments are offset by benefits from other public sources. There is a 135-day waiting period before benefit payments begin. The total premium is 11 cents per $100 of coverage, with a maximum monthly coverage of $8,333 ($100,000 per year). The University portion is shown in the chart listed in the Medical Insurance section labeled “University and Employee Contributions to Premiums.” Note: 9, 10 and 11-month employees’ annual premiums are paid over the academic year.
