Using a community reference system for selecting participants in a community search conference...

The community determines its own members whether it is a geopolitical, professional or issue related community. There are seven distinct steps to locating individuals to include in the search conference:

  1. 1. Research a rough social map.
  2. 2. Decide relevant criteria:
  3. 3. Pick a starting point in each section of the map.
  4. 4. Ask each starting point for two or three names that fit criteria.
  5. 5. Ask each of the new names to give you two or three names that fit criteria.
  6. 6. After 1, 2, or 3 iterations the same names should appear.
  7. 7. Select from the total list (cover total map jigsaw).
