Student Services
IP annually serves more than 700 students from approximately 80 countries. The office handles international student admissions, new student orientation, and advising. IP also provides assistance to sponsoring agencies, community volunteers and international student associations.
Services for Current Students
Address Change FormINS requires all F-1 and J-1 students to report address and telephone changes to IP within 10 days.

Practical training temporary work visa application for current F-1 students. Must attend OPT workshop (2nd and 4th Friday of each month).

Health Insurance Waivers
Health insurance coverage is mandatory for all F-1 and J-1 students and their families. The NMSU student health insurance plan will be automatically charged to your student account when registering for classes. If you purchase an alternate policy, an insurance waiver must be given to Student Accounts in the Educational Services Building each semester no later than the posted deadline.
If you are requesting a waiver, take your insurance card and copy of the policy to IP. You must be covered for the entire semester and the insurance must include major medical, medical evacuation, and repatriation.
It is the student's responsibility to research and choose between the options available. Important factors will include the amount of coverage, deductibles, policy limits for specific procedures and illnesses, and exclusions.
