2010-2011 Globalization Awards
It is the pleasure of Dean Delano E. Lewis to announce that Dr. Gary R. Lowe of the College of Agricultural, Environmental, & Consumer Sciences, Dr. Barry Thatcher of the College of Arts and Sciences - English; and Mr. Owen G. Cortner a senior in the College of Agricultural, Environmental & Consumer Sciences have been selected to receive the International Programs Globalization Award for their significant contributions to the internationalization of the New Mexico State University campus. The Globalization Award was initiated to recognize individuals whose actions and deeds promote international understanding, cooperation, involvement and development at NMSU. We wish to recognize their efforts to incorporate global perspectives through their teaching, study, research, and service.
Spring 2011 Outstanding International Graduate Award
The Outstanding International Graduate Award is presented every semester the Friday before commencement to those outstanding graduates who have demonstrated outstanding grade point average, active participation in activities which indicate leadership roles, skills to conceptualize and communicate to other what can or needs to be done. Those selected are well-rounded individuals active in campus life and admired by their peers. International and Border Programs has selected Zeltzyn Rubi Sanchez Lozoya as the Outstanding International Graduate for Spring 2011. Zeltzyn (commonly referred to as Rubi by her friends) has proven her leadership skills in every aspect of her education at NMSU. She is a young woman with vision and drive yet has the compassion and patience to assist others in attaining their goals. Her organizational skills and ability to prioritize enable Rubi to multitask in many facets including her educational endeavors, community service, on-campus work and social life. We congratulate Rubi on her outstanding accomplishment.
