GENERAL OBJECTIVE: The research project entitled New Mexico- Chihuahua Partnership for Innovation seeks the creation of cross-functional design teams of undergraduate students, with advisors from the faculty and partner organizations and businesses to develop technology solutions to regional needs that can be commercialized. In addition, the project involves other additional goals related to form start-up companies, to support student internships, to integrate technology development, management, commercialization and marketing into academic courses, to establish an electronic network among participant organizations, to sponsor a Technology Showcase of students/faculty projects, and to recruit women to participate in projects.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE: A research team in UACJ, integrated by 2 faculty members from the Institute of Engineering and Technology and 2 faculty members from the Institute of Social Sciences and Business Administration, will work on an initiative to develop a “GIS software to improve real estates market transactions in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua”. The purpose of this research project is to introduce in the local market a commercial devise to facilitate the decision-making process on purchasing and leasing industrial, commercial and residential land and facilities in Ciudad Juarez for both real estate companies and private land investors.
