International Cooperative Agreements

The Office of the Vice Provost for International & US-Mexico Border Programs (OIP) provides assistance to colleges, departments, and individual faculty/staff in the development of international cooperative agreements and in maintaining a master list of agreements. The assistance provided includes the following:

  • Reviewing international cooperative agreements (for on-campus organizations at NMSU)
  • Guidelines - providing guidelines for the development of agreements
  • Sample Agreements - providing sample agreements in English or Spanish
  • Obtaining appropriate signature and approvals for cooperative agreements
  • Current list - maintaining an up to date list of all university agreements

If the assistance of the OIP's is not needed in preparing an agreement, the OIP, as the office responsible for retaining all cooperative agreements on behalf of NMSU, requests that departments/colleges/organizational units on campus or faculty/staff send to OIP a copy of any and all cooperative agreement which have been and/or will be signed on behalf of the University. Send copies to Ida Baca at MSC 3567, fax to 646-1517 or e-mail to ibaca@nmsu.edu. This helps OIP in maintaining a current and complete list of international cooperative agreements for the university.

An annual review is conducted early in the fall semester to document which agreements were utilized and a brief description of the activities which transpired during the fiscal year. OIP also keeps a listing of inactive cooperative agreements. For a copy of the annual report, a list of the inactive agreements, or regarding any comments and/or questions, please contact Ida Baca.
