PhD Program Content:

Individual Research Training -This benefit allows Ph.D. candidates to continue conducting biomedical research under the mentorship of selected faculty. Currently, the MBRS-RISE Program has 41 faculty members in three colleges and eight departments.

Active MBRS-RISE Ph.D. candidates are provided with the following benefits:

  1. Year-round salary at various levels
  2. Year-round paid major medical insurance
  3. Paid tuition for nine credit hours per academic semester
  4. Travel funds to attend and/or present a paper/publication at a professional scientific conference
  5. Laboratory supply money for laboratory research needs

To apply for acceptance into the MBRS-RISE PhD Program,
please complete and submit the following to the MBRS-RISE Office:

A) Completed MBRS-RISE PhD Application Form
B) A typed statement stating 1) how you would benefit by participating in the MBRS-RISE Program, 2) how your participation would help in fulfilling the Program's objectives, and 3) your career goals.
C) A copy of your Certificate of Admission from the NMSU Graduate School
D) Copies of your admission paperwork, from the department you have applied to
