The 34th annual Renaissance Craftfaire, sponsored by the Doña Ana Arts Council,
was held Nov. 5 and 6 at Young Park in Las Cruces. More than 160 artists from the area showcased jewelry, ceramics, paintings and drawings, woodcrafts and other items. Families were encouraged to dress in Renaissance attire, as were vendors.
The faire brought out such local groups as Natives and Nomads, a belly dancing
goup, and the Society of Creative Anachronisms, which re-enacts battling
traditions from medieval times.
