Tournament of Bands
TOB is a regional competition sponsored by the NMSU "PRIDE" Band and hosted by the NMSU Music Department. It is designed to recognize and reward those bands and student musicians who display the highest degree of excellence. Our purpose is to provide a competitive, fair, and educational environment in which this may be accomplished. Hundreds of hours of planning and hard work have gone into each band's show. This dedication to excellence makes each participating band a winner in it's own right.

Southwest Honor Band
The Southwest Honor Band is made up of the finest high school musicians around New Mexico and West Texas. Auditions are held in December and the ensemble meets in February for a weekend of activities and a Sunday afternoon performance.

Jazz Festival
The NMSU Jazz Festival is an educationally based event. Each participating ensemble will receive a CD recording of their performance as well as audio taped comments from three of our guest adjudicators/clinicians. In addition, each ensemble will receive a clinic from one of our artists/clinicians. Our internationally known artists will conduct clinics and workshops during both days of the festival. The NMSU Jazz Festival is open to all Middle School, High School, University and Community Jazz Ensembles and combos.

Summer Band Camp
Join the music faculty, national guest clinicians, and high school band members for a week of study on the beautiful campus of New Mexico State University. Meet other high school musicians from throughout the Southwest and participate in musical activities including concert bands, jazz bands, private lessons, conducting, theory, and master classes.

Community Ensembles
Several ensembles are open to non-student musicians who love to play.
