"Ninth Annual URC Research and Creative Activities Fair"

PURPOSE
This is an opportunity for the research and creative activity community at
New Mexico State University to demonstrate the diversity of its scope, develop
new linkages with colleagues across the university and show the community
the innovations taking place on campus. The Fair is open to individuals, center
or institutes, and special programs involved with research and creative activities
across the campus. The Fair exhibitions are expected to be displayed by the
faculty and professional staff involved with the projects but graduates and
undergraduates students are encouraged to attend.
The Fair is held in conjunction with the New Mexico Alliance for Minority Participation ( New Mexico AMP) Annual Student Research Conference and represents a good opportunity to recruit students to NMSU.
FAIR
LOCATION
Corbett Center, Second Floor. Presenters are requested to be present at their
posters from 1:15 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. to interact with Fair attendees.
Fair Setup Time and Date: 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 (noon) on October 2, 2009.
Fair Takedown Time and Date: after 3:00 p.m. on October 2, 2009.
MECHANICS
For safety and related considerations, only poster-type displays will be
allowed with printed materials and photographs. No chemicals, open flames,
open electrical connections, etc will be permitted. Electricity will be
available on a limited basis (first come, first served).
ASSOCIATED
ACTIVITIES
The purpose in holding the URC Fair in conjunction with the New Mexico AMP
Conference is to provide an opportunity for both groups to interact with
each other through common activities. New Mexico AMP is inviting one presenter
(faculty or staff) in judging the student's oral presentations (9:00 a.m.
- 11:30) and poster presentations (1:00 p.m. - 2:45 p.m.). These blocks
of time include the appropriate meal, judge's orientation/training, project
judging, and final scoring sessions.
REGISTRATION
DEADLINE
The registration form must be completed and submitted by close of business
on September 21, 2009. Please print a copy of this announcement and the
registration form for your records.
