Mission

    It is the mission of the United States-Mexico Affairs Office (MEAF) to create an international forum for resource managers to foster collaboration, cooperation and education for the preservation, conservation and enhancement of shared natural and cultural resources.

Purpose

    MEAF serves as the lead office for coordinating international conservation projects between the National Park Service, the National Institute of Anthropology and History of the United Mexican States (INAH), Secretariat of Environment and Natral Resources of the United Mexican States (SEMARNAT), and other United States and Mexico organizations.

Goals

  1. Enhance communication between National Park Service and United States & Mexico entities.

  2. Promote the unique, natural and cultural heritage of both countries. 

  3. Develop specialized education programs for United States/Mexico managers.

  4. Enhance National Park Service/Mexico research programs.

  5. Cooperate with United States/Mexico organizations to establish protected natural and cultural areas in both countries.
