Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) Program in the School of Nursing at NMSU
The MSN curriculum provides students with the knowledge and experience to assume leadership positions in overall health care delivery and fulfill the fundamental requirements to teach in basic nursing programs, engage in nursing practice as clinical specialists, and secure middle- and top-level administrative positions in health care agencies.
Students who enroll in any of our specialties are required to come to campus one weekend at the beginning of each semester and complete the rest of the semester online via the internet. It is highly recommended that students are competent in the use of basic word processing and presentation software, preferrably Microsoft Office, and have some experience in navigating the internet and have basic computing skills.
In order to better aasist you, please take the time to complete our online Computer Competency Survey. If and when accepted into the School of Nursing MSN Program you must have access to a computer and the internet in order to complete assignments online.

- Community/Public Health Nursing Clinical Specialist (Requires a minimum of 500 practicum hours)
- Medical Surgical (Adult Health ) Clinical Nurse Specialist (Requires a minimum of 500 practicum hours)
- Nursing Administration
- Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner/Clinical
Nurse Specialist

Interdisciplinary Minors:

- Geriatrics
- Alcohol and Drug Counseling
