Qualifications: - Ph.D. (in hand by hire date) in Animal Science or related field.
- Strong communication skills; hands on training with companion animals; certification in animal assisted therapy; companion animal behavior, training or counseling is preferred.
- Ability and willingness to teach a variety of undergraduate courses in related companion animal sciences and development of an internship program is essential.
Examples of Duties: - Teach undergraduate courses related to companion animal science with an emphasis in behavior, nutrition, and
other companion animal science related topics.
- Develop and teach distance education courses in companion animal management.
- Academic and career advising as well as working with student organizations interested in companion
animals and community outreach are aspects of position.
- Assist in team taught introductory companion animal management course.
