QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering Technology or related field with a minimum of five years of related experience; or an Associates degree in a related field with a minimum of seven years of related experience; or equivalent military education and experience in EET (DD214) form required), which provided the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Ability to supervise, direct, delegate and evaluate work of assign staff and respond to complaints and grievances.
• Ability to coordinate training of subordinates consistent with existing CSBF & NASA procedures and policies.
• Skill and ability to design, fabricate, test, evaluate, modify, repair and operate electronic systems and test equipment.
• Skill in problem analysis and resolution to provide technical assistance to co-workers and customers at the project management level; and participate in design and program reviews.
• Knowledge of safety procedures relating to electronic fabrication while maintaining a safe working environment.
• Knowledge and ability to develop technical drawings, schematics and reports to meet contract specifications.
• Ability to research new methods and techniques to design and fabricate electronic systems and equipment.
• Ability to work irregular hours and participate in field trips for periods up to 8 weeks in duration.
• Ability to pass the physical requirements to work in Antarctica.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and work effectively with others.
• A minimum of 10 years experience in the direct supervision of other technicians during balloon flight operations is highly desired.
Examples of Duties: EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Supervise the fabrication, assembly and testing of complex electronic systems, documenting and evaluating the test results in terms of operational success on high altitude balloon flights. Suggest modifications to existing flight hardware. Provide technical support to staff engineers and scientists to insure successful interface between flight hardware and the payload. Provide supervision for the electronics section in the areas of reporting, scheduling, and assignment of work. Assure operational sufficiency in quality of workmanship, equipment readiness, and operations of electronic systems and test equipment used in support of local and remote operations of the NASA High Altitude Research Balloon Program.
