| Qualifications: | Required- MLS or equivalent degree from an ALA-accredited program by date of hire. Formal training in archival management and theory. Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a complex, changing library environment. Ability to work efficiently and meet specified project goals and deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred- Recent experience in the processing of archival collections and making these collections accessible. Basic reference experience in a library or archives setting. Basic knowledge of the history of the western United States, particularly the Southwest. Basic supervisory experience. High level of customer-service orientation. | |||||
| Examples of Duties: | Process Rio Grande Historical Collections from accession to end processing and completion of finding aids. Participate in collaborative activities to make Rio Grande Historical Collections materials accessible, including creating finding aids, preliminary inventories, and digital initiatives. Actively participate in departmental and unit-specific reference and research services. Supervise Library Specialist. Train other members of the department as needed. Work with donors in conjunction with the department head and library administration. Contribute to the assessment of potential additions to the Rio Grande Historical Collections. Other duties as assigned
